Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week - Spring 2012

Welcome to the start of Fashion Week lovelies! This is one of the most exciting weeks in NYC.  I love watching all of the beautiful, inspiring clothing coming down the runway. Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to watch the live streams of the shows today as I have a big work event, but I can't wait to look tonight and see what BCBGMAXAZRIA, Porter Grey, Tadashi Shoji, and others had to show! Wednesday Wishes

It's supposed to rain this entire week in the city, but as long as it's not hot and humid, I don't care. In fact my parents took advantage of the chilly day yesterday and had a fire - I'm jealous I missed out, but it's just the start of fireplace season. Here are my Wednesday Wishes (rainy day edition!)...

Welcome to September lovelies! Ok so I know it's Tuesday and Monday is part of the title of these posts, but what I'm in the mood for this month is FALL, and I just did not feel right doing a fall post on Labor Day (there is something really wrong with that). So here is what I am in the mood for this September!

And last, but certainly not least, what I am in the mood for this week around town is FASHION WEEK! Mercedes-Benz Fashion week begins this Thursday, September 8th. Unfortunately I will not be able to make it to Fashion's Night Out on Thursday because of a work event, but there will be plenty of other fun events! Follow all of the excitement here!

What's in a Name?

I usually drink the coffee they provide at work, but today I decided that I will treat myself to some Starbucks (it's good to get these Starbucks trips in while I can - the students will be back on campus any day now and the lines will be unbearable). I always walk in there ready for a good laugh - somehow they can never figure out my name. It's not that difficult - ELISE.  They usually confuse it with the same names, Elisa, Alyssa, Elsie, etc. I'll lighten the mood on this Friday with a few that left me completely puzzled and laughing...

ALICE- this is one I often get people think that the 'E' in Elise is pronounced as an A

So then I try to emphasize that it's an E not and A - and what do I get? ELEASE.

DANICE - this was a new one.

And my all time personal favorite, S-CINDY. This is just scary. Not only did they
originally spell Cindy incorrectly (Sindy), but this in no way resembles my name.
